Nantwich Museum Trust Limited

Nantwich Museum is here to tell the story of the town’s rich history by understanding the past and inspiring the future.
We collect, safeguard and make accessible local artefacts  and to provide a centre for the inspiration, learning and enjoyment of all.
The Museum's own Research group researches, designs and curates at least one historic exhibition per year and exhibition space is also hired out to local community interest groups to put on their own historic and art based exhibitions. This includes groups like Nantwich Camera Club.
We also provide room space for community groups such as the local U3A book club and Museum volunteer groups including a craft and knitting group, a research group, and collections group meet regularly in these spaces. We also host free events for charities and community groups for example Plastic Free Nantwich and Nantwich Film Club.
The Museum has a Dementia Friendship Group which meets fortnightly.  It is free for people living with dementia from the locality to attend with a family member or carer. Sessions are themed and we also run regularly music sessions.
We have a busy education service primarily benefitting primary  school children who come from schools within an hour radius of Nantwich. We also work with schools, colleges and universities to provide meaningful work experience opportunities. We offer an outreach service and regularly run guided tours of the town and talks and hold events programmes throughout the year.
We work closely with the local community and have a team of approximately 60 volunteers who are involved in all aspects of the running of the Museum.
